Giulia Quadrifoglio servicing.
Discussion
My Quadrifoglio went to D Salmon in Colchester on Thursday. This was the 18,000 service.
It’s a very small dealer - I used to go to County Motor Works in Chelmsford but it’s no longer an official dealer so couldn’t honour my FCA service plan.
Well it was just a service really. No acknowledgement that the Giulia is quite special, just a normal event amongst a sea of 500s and Mitos.
Plus points: they did it it in a day, they washed and vacuumed it, and they gave some good feedback during the day.
Minus points: they charged for a “courtesy” car (£15), the car was a Mito (yuk) covered in dealer advertising, and it’s bloody miles away compared to Chelmsford for me so 1.5 (+) hours return journey in rush hour morning and night.
No problems, but nothing outstanding.
As a side note they saw I have scuffed my splitter a bit and pointed out that, should it fail, a fitted replacement will be well north of two grand...

I think there should be some dedicated QV outlets within certain Alfa dealers who really understand these cars and acknowledge that these are bought mainly by enthusiasts.
I bought mine from a very large dealership with it's own demo QVs therefore hoping they have in-house specialists. But when I pick-up my car I'll specifically ask about how many QV specialists they have. smarty156 said:
My understanding, having spoken to my local dealer tech, is that they have specific Quadrifoglio training and only Quadrifoglio trained techs are allowed to work on them.
Yup!Unfortunately, because the QF training is right up there with Masser and Ferrari they tend to get poached by better paying dealers / brands not long after getting qualified. It's difficult tying one down for any length of time.
