Tyre mileage

Just put new rear tyres on my 2017 5.0GT, they were almost completely worn out at 7400 miles. People on simply Mustangs are saying thats quite good but i don't think so. I have taken the pirrellis off and put Bridgestone Potenzas on the pirrellis do not grip in cold or wet conditions.
What tyres are everybody else using?

My S197 275/30 x 20 rears have about 14000 on the rears and they need replacing - Dunlop SportMaxx
The same tyres on the front lasted about 10000 miles.

I'm running the same tyre (although 35 profile) and managed to get just shy of 20k miles from rears and fronts, I replaced like for like as they were so good

The P Zeros on my 5.0 lasted until about 14,000 miles - changed them for Michelin Pilot Sports, and have found a vast improvement in grip, especially on cold and damp roads.

My P Zeroes lasted about 12000 miles on the rear.
It is so easy/tempting to slide the back around that rear tyre life is surely bound to vary hugely according to driving style!

Lots of wet weather and snow and ice driving in Cumbria these last two winters does tend to fight for traction when not in a straight line, other guys on facebook saying around 5000 for the rears

My GT has just turned a year old with a little under 5k on the clock. Rear tyres are around 4.5m, so I would expect them to be ready for replacement at 10-12k.
I’ll pass on the P zeros and probably go for Michelin’s, I also hear Vredesteins are much better in the wet, the other one to look at is the Bridgestone all weather A005’s , a popular choice up here in Scotland.

I picked up my gt convertible at 14 k with tyres replaced, the fronts were fine original. So sor me doing 3 k a year, they will outlive me 😃

My EcoBoost needed new back tyres at 6,500 miles. They were absolutely and utterly shagged. They really did look like slicks. I replaced like for like and they were still legal after 25,000 miles. Never could work it out.

Replaced the pirrellis with bridgestone potenzas handling and gripping a lot better now
