Central locking

Alright all,
Got a bit of a problem with my tts , the car locks with the key fob but won't open, so when I use the key to open her it only opens the drivers door and the alarm goes off, it does the same with both key fobs, is it just the batteries getting run down or is it something more.

Batteries are cheap and easy to change, can't hurt

I know, but the warranty on the car is finishing soon so I thought I would just ask in case anyone else has had a similar problem.
