Guilia Veloce Advice and Guidance Please...?
Discussion
After 8/9 years of Audi's this Alfa has absolutely won my heart. The reviews do it nothing but justice and from what I have already read in some of the threads on PH it's just an all round good car that I won't get tired of.
The 5 years Warranty, 3 Years servicing on current 'New Deals' is also another attraction.
So, my question is, what target price should I be going for and a realistic price/month whether it be PCP or lease? I'll obviously be adding a few options so appreciate that will have an overall affect.
Further to this, living deep in the Lakes, an Alfa dealership isn't exactly close. Where would you guys recommend the best for customer service/ after care?
Any advice is appreciated.

You could try Autolusso in Penrith for service/etc.
Some years ago I put together a google map with Alfa Specialists here:

Assuming it still works, and the data is still accurate!

Best prices are going to be an individual thing, it will depend on mileage and deposit etc. Whilst some dealers hate it, a good way to get an idea of the best deal is to use Carwow, you will quickly find which dealership is prepared to give the best discount, then use that as a target to talk to others.
Generally speaking the guys doing the most business on discounting has been Beachdale at Derby, although when i leased mine, Unity in Oxford were marginally cheaper. On Lease they all tend to use Leasys who are FCA's financial arm, but each seem to be able to negotiate there own deal. When I bought mine Leasing was a better financial proposition than a PCP, not sure if this still holds as I am aware of some excellent deals being made with PCP's since.
The lack of dealers is going to force you to travel, both for purchase and servicing, its inevitable and in my view one of the main reasons you will not see a Giulia many times on a typical UK journey (sometimes you never see one from one week to the next!).
Servicing you will have more choice as you can use anywhere as long as the parts are Alfa manufacture. Autolusso would be a good choice, or Piccadilly at Knaresborough if you fancy a trip across the A59, they are still a service centre, but are not an official sales dealer anymore.
The Giulia is a superb Car, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you both for your replies. Very reassuring to know of the place just up the road in Penrith.
Velocemitch, a very clear and informative summary of the information I was looking for. Derby was my first, loactionwise but have heard many a good review of Unity in Oxford, somewhere I would not be adverse to travel to for customer service alone.
Again, appreciate your comments and advice.
Anything further welcomed

If you have 3 years free servicing that will have to be at a main dealer.Velocemitch, a very clear and informative summary of the information I was looking for. My experience has been really positive too. Cheap lease from Unity in 2017. Nothing gone wrong other than a screen switched off for a couple of days and the stop start is intermittent. Car surpisingly comfy with excellent seats and driving position. The interior is much better designed than the German competition which is something that the reviews gloss over in favour of moaning about the plastic around the gear lever. Reasonably quick, fairly economical (just over 30mpg in mixed urban driving with the odd long trip generally in dynamic mode). Nearly ended up in another Volvo but Unity could supply a car pretty much immediately. Very pleased about that now..
No options and I'm not there is anything I miss as the car is pretty well equipped as standard.

I used Carwow to get an idea of what figures I may be looking at. They all came with VERY similar quotes based on PCP. I was surprised at just how high a deposit they are looking for though. Possibly a dealer trick being played...
On all quotes it was between £8 - 8600 and then approx £340/month. Whilst I appreciate this reduces the monthly I'm surprised at how much of a deposit may be required. I am comparing this to Audi deals of the past however.
Can anyone shed any light on figures even if from 2017?
Thanks
Edit: Have now looked through leasing.com and Unity's lease deals have popped up, far more attractive

A quick check on the leasing deals on the site you mentioned shows them around about £80.00 a month higher than the figures I got 18 months ago. This could be because the discounts aren’t as high, could be a Brexit nervousness about import duties, or it could be that the best deals are attained by direct contact and pushing them harder.
One thing that I do find with leasing is that any options including metallic, were costed sim0,y by taking the list price for the option and dividing it by the payments. They obviously took the residual to zero. PCP tended to be better for a car with a lot of options.

I collected my Giulia Veloce in November 2017 (brilliant car, absolutely no issues), from Beechdale in Derby after getting an amazing PCP deal via Carwow.
My recollection of the details of the deal are:
- Deposit of around £12000 (most via a trade-in)
- £142 pm over 3 years (12,000 miles) 0% APR
- Final payment of around £15000
I intend to buy the car at the end of the 3 years, and if I do so then it will have cost me around £32,000 in total I think. The list price was a bit lower in late 2017 so I could add metallic paint (misano blue) and 19" diamond cut alloys and the car was JUST under the £40K higher tax threshold. So the discount was pretty massive.
No idea whether the discounts are still as good (although the 5 year warranty you now get is certainly worth a bit of money in my view!). But I would recommend Beechdale - they were excellent. And the car is sublime!

Bought mine in December, came in around 32,000 after discount and deposit contribs (no options, just metallic paint)
And as you mention options - it won't take much to push the official price over the 40,000 extra road tax barrier so be prepared for that. The 2019 veloce is pretty well specced anyway.
Post pics once you have bought

Anyway at around the same time it was available on lease, with 9 months up front (£2511), for £279 a month with no extras.

Thanks Kiseca...
Seems their pricing has significantly increased over the last 12 months. Out of interest, what dealer was that please?
I'll be pursuing this harder once back in the country. Still not heard a bad review...
The dealer was Thames Alfa Romeo in Slough. they were very helpful and accommodating even when I explained I was not going to be in a position to purchase for another 12 months at the time. I'll be going back there when I'm ready. The Veloce's a great car and I'd be tempted to pick it even over a V6 XE S when I can afford to...Seems their pricing has significantly increased over the last 12 months. The price was online... I am not sure if this is the same site but it does have a deal that matches what I found 12 months ago.
It's a personal lease with an 8k limit p.a, which was fine for me but if you need more mileage the price will go up for sure.

Giulia 280 for £2500 + £279 per month:
https://leasing.com/main-dealers/mangoletsi-alfa-r...
What I've noticed over time is the prices vary wildly. When I settled for the XE, I found a price online, and the Jaguar dealer then beat it so I bought from the dealer.
Anyway this was before the Veloce was released. At the time, Giulia 200 petrols weren't available for under £450 p.m. and for the price I paid for the XE at the time, I couldn't even lease any petrol Giulietta.
The used Giulias seem to be holding their value well.. unfortunately for me. But it does at least seem to mean they are much more competitive to lease now.

Again, thank you very much for the information, that current deal is of great use. I've considered the XE S, along with the new 330i, but everything I read about the Veloce is positive and I've always wanted to scratch the itch on an Alfa!
Thanks to everyone for the info and advice so far. Nice to see a thread not hijacked by smart ar$3s for a change.

I followed a new 330i down the A1 today, had a look at it from all angles. I was astonished how dull and unimaginative it looked. I really quite liked the previous 3 series and ran one, a 320D from a couple of generations back (2008 Car) but I think they just seemed to get bored and gave up with this latest design.
I’m sure it’s brilliant in every other way, but god it’s dull.
