I’m looking for some guru advice... The battery has been disconnected for the winter so getting the car ready for the summer I press and hold the battery reconnect button (back right footwell) in the normal way. Battery kicks in but immediately disconnects when I stop pressing the reconnect switch. Battery seems healthy and new last year.

Haven’t had this before. Anyone had the same issue and any ideas how to resolve?

Has the battery been charged during the winter, or disconnected and then not touched for (say) 5 months?

Disconnected (no trickle-charge) since December. When the reconnect is pressed it feels like plenty of charge there (aircon, dash etc)

It's a long time since I had a Vanquish.... but isn't there some collision type switch in the car? The thing that disconnects the battery if you've had a bump? Or is that the same thing you're pressing? In which case my parrot is calling. smile

Have you tried holding it down for quite a few seconds?

Other than that, check the battery has decent charge.

Yes - a good 10secs. Everything seems fine until you release. It could well be the battery,

Sounds like the reconnect switch is faulty, give it a good poke, and maybe it will connect properly.....

Could you try connecting a running car to it off jump leads? Just to see if the battery is feeble and causing the issue?

I owe you. A hard poke and a bit of a wiggle! Sorted. Thanks,

That tends to sort most things! Glad all is better now.

There is also a switch (push button) in the boot next to the trickle charge plug. This also needed a couple of pushes. That then fixed the issue after I had pushed the button that previous person mentioned behind drivers seat (on right hand car) in the recessed plastic cup on rear passenger (on a 2+2) vertical if the footwell
