I can't get my Tuscan to start. I'm sure it is an immobiliser issue, but want to check if anyone has any other ideas.

Battery was completely flat. Charged it through the Andersen connector using a battery charger, everything now back (lights, doors boot etc.

Now I can lock and unlock the car, but when I turn the ignition on and push the fob button, the oil light doesn't come on and the pump doesn't prime. using the alarm dongle in the dash socket make no difference. The red light above the socket stays on solid come what may. I've tried both keys (in desperation) but neither works.

I've tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and then reconnecting - oddly the car locks when I reconnect the battery but the alarm doesn't go off.

I've checked the ignition/alarm/immobiliser fuse which is good, as well as the alarm battery fuse. Can'y see any relays that seem to be involved.

Anyone any ideas?? Otherwise it's a call to Carl Baker, HF solutions or Abacus.

Thx

J

Unfortunately no other suggestions i can think of, but i'd agree this sounds very much like a goosed immobiliser/alarm

Sounds very much like your immobiliser is goosed. The only real way to find out is to bypass it. This is relatively straightforward in a Tuscan Mk1 but a bit more involved in a Mk2/3.
