With several cars coming to the end of their contract hire term, including mine, it will be interesting to see the values and if they hold up. My car's valued at £36k with 8k miles on WBAC and when I called my lease company to tell them I'm interested in buying it they said they'll be sending me their valuation for consideration in a day or two. Be interested to see where they see the value as I'd love to keep it and get it modified by Jamie as I know the history and I've always thought of it as 'my car' rather than a rental.
Anyone else considering buying theirs?

Me too - 50th Anniversary car in Comp Red.

I assume yours is leased with FCA?

Expect a valuation in the region of £45K from them.

Via Leasys, not sure if one and the same as FCA.
They mentioned auction value and using CAP so interested to see where they see it's value. I'm not paying £45k though, that's retail and I'm expecting a discount somewhere between trade and retail. Maybe starting with a low 4 but hoping a mid to late 3.

Any update? Have they given you a price yet?

Came back to me late yesterday with a value of £43.5k with 8k or £42.8k with 12k which is it's contracted mileage at the end of the term. Won't budge an inch on price despite me putting forward good reasons for prices being soft for a while due to several ex hire cars coming to market and of course no collection or auction costs either.
I still think I'm going to buy mine as I tried a Boxster 718 which wasn't a patch on the Alfa and I'm struggling to find a replacement that gives me the excitement of the Alfa, the lightweight feel and the rarity too, which is what I love about it. Nothing mainstream under £50k - 60k is coming to mind at the moment.

Did they give you the option to buy it? Or a 3rd party?

I didn't ask but assume they will sell directly to me as they made no mention of it having to be sold to a third party.

Leasys are the leasing arm of FCA.

There is a rule where you as the specific individual who holds the lease, can't actually buy the car - but (for example) your wife can.

The spread of values according to mileage is quite interesting. £700 for 4,000 miles - which is 17.5p / mile. The excess mileage charge on my lease is 36p / mile.

I was given a price of £45K sometime in January - for a car with 10K - so it looks like prices have softened since then.

Did you ask for a monthly price to extend the lease?

Checked out the lease extension costs and they came back at £754.00 per month for another 12 months/6k miles. Obviously they want out of it however, I was thinking this car would be a sound buy without too much downside but maybe they know something we don't?

They also agreed that they have to invoice anyone other than the person named on the lease so you were right.

I don't think it's specific to the 4C - I just think that Leasys have some strange algorithms. There's another thread on here where a person with a mainstream car got a quote from Leasys to extend their lease, and it was double what they were currently paying.
