Has anyone fitted parking sensors to their Elise / Exige?

I have an S2 Exige and I must admit I'm very wary of reversing as I really can't judge the distance like I could in an Elise.

I was thinking of getting this kit fitted:

...but before I do, would like to know others thoughts. The sensors themselves are recessed into the rear clam and can be colour coded to match the car apparently. But does this really make them unnoticeable??

And, are these sensors any good anyway?

Cheers,

Tim.

Open the door, put your head out, look behind. Works for me.

Wilsons Lotus in Romford, Essex actually offer these as an optional extra on the new Exige.

I have them on my daily driver (Volvo S80) and they are invaluable when getting a large car into a tight spot..........

Used to have them on my Lexus and they're one of the best things I ever bought (aftermarket ones that I fitted myself, I'll hunt out the name of them later for you).

With regards to the Exige - well, you wlil be able to notice them, but they will still look ok if colour coded nicely so I don't think that's your issue. Don't even listen to the people who say you shouldn't...it's your car, if you want to ut them on, go for it!

I have only just got my Elise (S2 111S) and am still learning, but what I find is that I don't really need to judge behind me that closely: because the car is so short (compared to parking spaces), you don't need to go all the way to the back to get it parked (if that makes sense!).

Good luck!

would it be possible to hide the sensors in the mesh/diffuser area? That'd look neater.

Cheers! I might go to Wilsons Lotus then - would feel much better having it done by someone who knows their way around the Exige and knows how to fit sensors.

You could always turf your misus out of the passenger seat and get her to guide you?

Sinclaires also do them IIRC and put the sensors in the mesh so you cant see them.
