Camping cooking shelter
Discussion
My 4 year old and I went on a few camping trips last year which we thoroughly enjoyed, and would like to do more this year
We have a Vango airbeam amalfi 500 tent (easy for me to put up singlehanded)
Cooking wise we have a little gas stove and a small Weber bbq, but if it rains I’m a bit stuck - I need a shelter of some description to cook under
Any recommendations? Ive looked at getting a tarp to make one (seems a bit flimsy) or a separate shelter (Coleman one looks decent) but that may be too big, and probably chargeable as an additional tent
Any other suggestions?

Worth a look at the seller "campingrecycled" on ebay. They are (I believe) a Vango outlet, and list a huge number of things like add-on awnings for family tents, some ex-display or refurbished etc so prices are pretty good. I'd think you can probably add space without adding a separate tent.
Options are:
Get a takeaway.
Find a pub that serves food.
Go to <insert name of fast food place here>
Eat cold food (salad).
Get wet.
I remember heading up to a campsite near Fort William on one of the first few camping trips I did on my own after moving out from my parents. Arrived on a nice sunny afternoon, got the tent up, got the BBQ lit, started cooking and then it rained, a lot, put my BBQ out! Think I managed to finish that meal on the gas stove but being Scotland it pretty much rained for the next two weeks. I used most of the options above several times

What about something like this : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/88-2-2m-DELUX-BISON-TOP...
Put up when needed and take down again after. Or you can get small pop-up beach shelters, that again, you could put up when needed and then take down again

Never cook in a tent, I wouldn't even boil a kettle.
