My word. Travelled in yesterday afternoon. Transfer to Hamilton - here for this week for work.
Damn, you guys are friendly. People saying hello in the street, hearing my dulcet londoner tones, and instant welcome.
Advice on places to see (even things that I can do outside work hours), tips on places to eat. Invites to join tables at the bar to not be drinking/eating alone.
I travel a lot - NZ has been a place I've wanted to visit for years (based on reports from a schoolfriend who spent his gap year here).
To say it's exceeded expectations is an understatement - and yet everyone I meet is almost embarrassed about the place...
I was slightly concerned considering the events of last week - you guys are a credit to the human race.
