Just got off the phone w/ the dealer in Los Gatos. (I like them because they have taken a list, and will guarantee MSRP, but won't take deposits until they are officially notified the car is coming. Apparently it is illegal to take deposits until receiving official notice and they want to do things properly. Admirable considering how much money is being taken in just on deposits by some other dealers.)
Anyway, they still haven't been given any official notice. So, while Arnie may have made a formal statement of intent, Lotus has not yet committed themselves to the dealers. At that point, I will believe the car is coming. Given the history of the Elise and m250, I won't believe it until the dealers have official notice and a price list.

I think the Lotus will be here for 2 reasons,
1 they have to update the car for emissions anyway for the european market. Whatever modification is done it will also meet the California market.
2 It's either that or give up the lotus dealership network, because they won't have anything else to sell.
Having said that, I'll be happier when I see a fixed date on the lotus or lotus USA web site.
