Bit of a sad story.
A good frien of mine had a pretty immaculate 130 coupe that he used to drive about central london about 30 yrs ago.
He decided he wanted to upgrade the performance & a mechanic garagiste took it in to do the work.
3 yrs later & all he had done was strip it a bit (god knows why as it was all engine work) & took £5k.
Eventually managed to get the car back minus the engine & other bits.
So it ended up sat in a lock up for the next 20 odd years until the lockup was lost & we bought it to suffolk.
It now really needs someone to love it.
It is basically a very sound shell , interior looks all there. Gearbox there & all suspension etc . It has a ful length webasto sunroof.
Didnt want to just stick it on ebay.
Dont really have an idea of what its worth, its more about saving it.
Anyone ?
Have pics but cannot see how to upload them

Such an elegant looking car, well worth saving. Have you looked on all the classic car sites yet?
Why not run it through eBay with a crazy high final reserve price so you don’t sell it cheap?
Like market research! It will generate interest and hopefully find you the right guy who is interested in it.

They are such stunning looking cars - but I doubt running gear is very easy to find these days!

I went to look at a 130 saloon back in the early 80s, but sadly it wasn't a great example.

But they seemed to have been built on the basis of "no expense spared" - wouldn't happen at Fiat now. laugh

Absolutely. I think the coupes were built by pininfarina

The sad reality is that as a non original car needing so much work and parts its not worth a great deal. A friend has just bought a complete working car for £7000 - I doubt if you could pick up the engine for that.

I do hope that gets saved.

I have fond memories of driving my bosses 130 saloon in the early eighties and it was wonderful. coolcool

Agreed. The pity is that it is very solid. Was thinking might be a candidate for an ls7 V8.
PLEASE DONT SHOOT ME !

No shooting form me, that sounds like a great plan to me. The LS7 is a great engine, light simple and circa 500BHP out the box, an engine and transmission out of a wrecked Giulia QV would be even better. smilesmile

hard one to price for sure, especially as you don't see many projects. Sad it is missing the engine really. I've always wanted a 130 and think they're a great car but not sure what I would put in this! How solid is it?

An Alfa V6 Busso would be the best donor, surely? 2.5 or 3.0.
