LED headlight bulbs

I want to fit LEDs to my 2003 996 Targa. Does anyone have experience / recommendations?

Same Q, but 993. Already have Tore's HID kit for low beam. Looking at plug'n'play LED for hi-beam. Gert is currently assessing something that doesn't require ballast.

I don't know which bulbs are used in a 996, but NightEyes LED bulbs work nicely in my Cayman.

I have those in my 996, bought as a bit of an experiment but I have kept them in as they work nicely, as said by gsewell.
I did have to modify (using a dremel) the plastic clips which hold the bulbs in. I bought 2 new ones from the dealer so I can put it back to normal bulbs if needed.
