AUM head swap to BAM.. What do I need to know?

VAG people, can I fit a BAM head on the same block that has a AUM head there.. Are the manifolds the same fitting. I'm under the impression that the EGR hole isn't there which is n problem as I'm removing the SAI pump and circuit if possible.

Yes, the only real difference is no Sai on the bam head and spacers under the exhaust valve springs, everything else is the same.

Which begs the question why swap them?

Nothing special about the Bam head that is going to make more power on a Aum block.
