Fraid it is not only in america. I saw a limo version of a ford explorer in regent street on saturday. It was white of course with at least 10 side windows (only measure of size I can think of...)

I saw a stretched Ford Galaxy style limo in Hemel a month or so ago, could have been a Chrysler, the thing was a good 25m long. Your own party on wheels, just watch your head!

I'm surprised they haven't picked them up for the, erm, 'film' business yet!

I saw this huge car the other day. Far, far too big for the UK roads. It was sooo tall, long, and too wide by far.

it was a standard Ford Explorer...

lol. is the explorer in the UK the explorer in the US? Ford is notorious for swapping names around. Does the UK get the full line of ford suv's? the escape, expedition, excursion as well as the explorer? I'd be really surprised if ford could sell excursions up there. The truck in that picture was once an F350 superduty, which is the same platform as the excursion

It was a Ferrari ? tvr, lammy ?

Anyhting interesting is too long/wide, so why expect to be treated differently? oh, apart from bikes. All bikes provided they are sports-bikes are perfectly proportioned for UK roads !!
