Hello chappies and chappesses. I need to get to Poland in November. It is my girlfriends (Polish girly) birthday on the 14th so I need to be there for the full week ending the 15th.

Do any of you well travelled PH types know where to find cheapy flights, I would actually leave on the 9th and return on the 17th of November. The flight can be to her home city of Poznan, or either Warsaw or Krakow where she will come and meet me. All as I need is the cheapest, once I am there the trains are easy enough to negotiate.

Thanks for all you help

I love all you PHers, you really are the best kind of people.

Try www.opodo.co.uk or www.expedia.co.uk - they tend to give pretty good discounts for cheapo flights.

Try www.easyvalue.co.uk. It's run by Stelios, but covers a load of airlines, and searches for the cheapest options.

Good luck,

I have used......

1) Flight Centre, tel. 0870 896 0001

2) Travel Arcade, tel. 0207 734 5873

in the past.

Last time I went (May this year) there was not much availability as LOT had stopped taking reservations. There was some concern over their financial stability......not sure if this has been resolved.

I think our last flights ended up at just under £200 (including taxes) direct from H/row to Warsaw.

Other in-direct flights were cheaper, but when you added on the taxes for each flight it worked out more.

Let us know how you get on, as I am thinking of planning a surprise home visit for my wife (she is missing her family).

I have been having a look myself (really busy at work again ) and have found a direct flight from Manchester and as planned it leaves in the morning and returns in the evening. £184 all in, that sounds pretty reasonable? Still waiting for holiday conformation from the boss so can't click on order yet so I still have time to look at any you guys recommend.

135sport, sorry I didn't email you but you answered my most pressing questions in the forum, I have kept your mail though as I am really missing her now and this trip is going to make it worse so I may well have some questions then. As for the trip, what do I need in the way of Visas etc? Cheers for your help

no visa required.

toothbrush and cash for all that cheap (and very good) beer.

I'm off there myself for Christmas, but I imagine I will get robbed for the flights!

STA might be worth a go. I seem to remember they do extra discounts if you're one of those young folk too.

I think GO go to poland. I used to just turn up at the airport and blag a cheap ticket (to Cologne..) £35.00.

Edited to include the company actual flight company - BUZZ. It was that bloody infuriating jingle music on the trains at Stanstead...
