Old TV series you're watching

After running out of comedy shows we're bck running through scrubs again. It's still brilliant.

And Dexter. I remember talk of this but we're well into it now, just half way through season 1.

What are you watching from back in the day that's still good?

The Professionals, currently being repeated on ITV4.

Loved watching it growing up, still enjoy it now. It's also fascinating to see how London has changed.

I still enjoy putting on a season of 24 or Entourage. The problem is I get drawn in again and end up watching the whole lot.

Noticed recently another car with the NHK reg,a green Granada Ghia for a Superintendent.
Better car than the Consul GT for Regan.

Can I add to that: special branch on, I think forces tv. A cop show but from the early 70s. Then there is the sweeney from the mid u9s and the professiojals from the late 70s. The difference in clothing, cars etc is fascinating. But everywhere is still brown, sooty and dirty

Where to start - there are some good drama series around now but I can't be bothered with half the dross that's made these days so it's a constant merry go round of these for me... The Persuaders, The Saint, The Prisoner, Department S, Randall & Hopkirk, The Baron, Strange Report, Man In A Suitcase, Jason King, The Protectors, UFO, The Champions, The Avengers, Danger Man, The Zoo Gang, Callan, Strangers, Special Branch, Bulman, The Sweeney, The Professionals... even The Adventurer, probably the worst thing Lew Grade's ITC ever made is still more entertaining and full of charm than a lot of today's output.

Must be an age thing...

I've been watching A Family at War quite a bit.

Some production values are a bit 'Acorn Antiques', but it's quite engrossing. Plus the great opening / closing title sequences to Ralph Vaughan Williams - stirring stuff!

Currently watching The professionals on bluray (a really nice transfer), and also Shoestring on DVD, Both of these series remind me just how grey, grotty and run down the UK used to be. On the other hand, tne cars are great!
