HELP: Would you still buy a 991T now you can get the 992CS?
Discussion
Hello,
I'm about to get my first 911 but I'm hesitating between the 991 Carrera T (immediately available) and the new 992 CS (order).
I love how the 991T looks (Racing Yellow) and all the extras you get with it but for the same price I can get a stock 992CS.
I'm buying PDK because I want to use it as daily and have quite some traffic jams.
Please help me making a decision!
Thank you very much in advance!

As a 991T owner - I would also say get the 992 for an everyday/traffic jam car.
However, as a second car for fun/weekend use, I have no intentions of swapping out of my T.
Seconded. I have a 992C4S PDK on order but will be keeping my 991 T with is manual box and 9e mods However, as a second car for fun/weekend use, I have no intentions of swapping out of my T.

Thank you all for your fast replies!
I'm actually surprised everybody picks the 992; I didn't see one yet but visually I love the 991.2 T especially in yellow.
Reading your comments if I would go manual it would be a different story. Yet PDK is the way to go for me. Besides daily usage co2 also has it's importance as over here it gives big tax differences.

Porsche Tewkesbury have a Black T with PDK at £89K which they have had for a while if your happy with Black may be worth a chat.
Pretty sure that was in their showroom last Sept/Oct when I started looking and put my £5k down. Its certainly a great looking car, The dark interior made it feel quite snug and secure if its the same one. I actually considered it briefly, then thought about the potential tech toys on the new 992 and yes, another 70 odd horses and decided it was worth the 9 odd month wait. Its my first 911 too, wont be a daily, more of a continental cruiser for holidays, and sunday morning blasts around Herefordshire. Hell, been waiting since i was about 10 years old, whats another 9 months now?
I’ve had a T from new .... great drivers car and I spend a lot of time in North Wales and Europe on the full mix of roads ... Don’t listen to the idiots who haven’t driven one.... go and test drive one and see what you think ... It’s nothing like an S or GTS .... you could be in a Mercedes in either of those ... too cosseted and modern .... The T is a much different proposition with a more visceral feel, more noise and much more fun ..... less is more with the T...
Run out model was the GTS so the T is what it is .... If they weren’t sold as feeder cars for the GT3 we’d only have about 50 in the UK .... Rest of the World appears to love them ....

there's much better driver focused 911's for the money
Go on, i’ll bite.there's much better driver focused 911's for the money
Give us your top 5.
I’ve done over 22k miles in my T and its predecessor (7k in the T), the holy grail 997 GTS over the course of the last 3 years. And I prefer the T.
As on ownership proposition it is remarkably compelling - zero maintenance costs, tech that works and a touch of old school charm. Works for me.
Plenty of alternatives for sure but would be genuinely interested to learn your views...
Yet to meet a disappointed T owner.

Rob - as a 997GTS manuel owner, who has been keeping an eye on the T and thinking - now wouldn't that be great with the much hyped GT3 level engine remap come end of warranty, and considerably easier to live with, that's a very interesting comment! Standard T better than a 997GTS in your view? Can you explain why? I keep having these thoughts and then every trip out in the GTS coming back and thinking it's the ultimate keeper..........how does the T better it?
Take one for a drive to find out.... but ......remapping the T for me is missing the point of it ......it’s not about outright speed it’s about the complete package... ....Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
