Is it just me or does anyone else think this is a pile of lazily written crap?
It starts off sounding like John Mellencamp and then rushes downhill into an over repeated chorus. I have to turn the radio off when it starts.

Doesn't this apply to pretty much anything BRYAN has ever done? biggrin

Well, I'm not a particular fan of BA, but I don't think anyone who likes his stuff should be shot, it's just that this is particularly poor with repetitive chorus. Shine a light ad nauseum.

I think anyone who likes Queen should be shot.

I heard people talk about his new single saying it was great! Then heard it and completely agree with the initial comment here about it, easily written, bland, middle of the road drivel, i was very disappointed!

Must admit that I quite like it. Very distinctively him, and it's catchy and fun. Doesn't have to be a work of art to be enjoyable smile

Doesn't that chorus drive you nuts?

Not a massive fan, but do have fond memories of Summer of '69 being a perpetual choice at our local after hours drinkery.

But I agree with the OP, this one is like nails on a blackboard to me.

Carefully edit the title, Sh(ine a l)ight (sic), and the truth is revealed.

I didn't know he was still making music, thought he'd gone into production.
Has he done anything decent since the only thing that looks good on me ?

Started out doing lame 80s rock,Robin Hood theme tune dirge, then a duet with a Spice Girl and heard the latest offering this week.
From grim to grimmer.

Waking Up The Neighbours was probably his last good album, and epitomised the soft Rock / AOR rock sound of 1991/1992. The last decent song IMHO was “Back to You” from MTV Unplugged. The new song is pretty poor by anyone’s standards.

This was my immediate thought...

Although on reflection I did rather like that one he did with the Spice Girl...
