I bought some of these off eBay for my Golf:

They work really well and have stuck just fine. Can't comment on the ease of removal but it's just 3M sticky pads so should come off OK (and nothing some IPA won't shift if necessary).

VWR make a lovely set of proper paddles that replace the OEM ones rather than stick on (avoid those as they often look cheap & never feel quite right).
Can't find the link, but Aliexpress.com have some VWR replica paddles that other than the VWR logo not being present are even bit as good & for about 1/3rd of the price (think i paid about £60). See photo, they're actually matt black but come in a variety of colours.

What's wrong with the existing paddles? Do you have tiny arms?
I had a Golf with DSG paddles and never had any issue with them.
Same reason anyone makes changes to their car, to make it how I want it, not how some fin de la cloche on a forum likes it I had a Golf with DSG paddles and never had any issue with them.

I've found that the ones I bought (as per my post above) are well-made and stick on/work just fine.As mine - like the OP's - is a lease car I didn't want to start doing things like swapping paddles over completely etc. I did look at those but the stick-on ones work great for me, however I guess YMMV.

I didn't know anyone actually used them after the first week of ownership.
Then you don't know me. After more than 5 years of ownership I still regularly use the paddles. Before overtaking and to engage a lower gear when going down hill are just 2 examples.I find the existing paddles fine (Octavia vRS). Perhaps where you hold the steering wheel makes a difference - I'm a 'quarter to 3' person.

That's exactly the sort of thing I need, glad to hear that they hold! The others that are a complete replacement look better I don't really want to be taking stuff apart if I can help it

Also after 2 years with a Clio with paddles I still use them most of the time I drive it (work away so 75% of the time I'm in hire cars) even though they've bugged me from day one as they're fixed and not on the steering wheel.
