I certainly remember that feeling.
After I got home from collecting my first S 8 years ago I decided to "pop out" and get some fish and chips for tea.
I ended up on the coast in Hunstanton sitting on a seafront bench eating my fish and chips gazing at a car that I couldn't believe was mine. Nothing very unusual about that you might think - apart from the fact that I live in Rutland which is over an hour away from the coast!
It was a hot summers evening and by the time I got home it was dark but the roof was still off.

My first drive in my S was a bit wet but still very exciting, especially as the start was through the New Forest- beautiful, but it has to be said, it gets better every time I drive it.
I bought mine 2 years ago, I remember just before I drove away the guy I bought it from said "remember to switch on the heater if you have to stop, it overheats in traffic" (aye thanks mate you might have told me before I bought it...)
Drove away and it was superb... after about 10 miles i joined a queue for the forth bridge and sat and sat, heater on... decided that was the first thing to fix (it took me 4 months to track it down but I got there) - drove straight home because the road tax situation wasn't all it could have been (due to a difficulty with obtaining the actual insurance certificate) and I didn't drive it properly till that weekend.
Was out for 20 minutes tonight, still love it...

My first drive in an S was fantastic , I had decided I could afford one as a weekend car but although I had sat in one in a showroom I had never driven one, so I set out to find the nearest car at a garage so I could take one out for a spin. I now think the car I drove was an S4 but didn`t know it at the time, I was hooked . By the time I found the car I now own I had driven a few but the trip home was difficult , I couldn`t escape the feeling that I should be taking it back to its owner , it took a few weeks before I accepted it was mine.
I still blip the throttle when I shouldn`t but who cares its still a buzz driving the car after three and a half years.

Had my S2 for a few weeks now, keep pinchin myself now just to make certain it aint a dream. Been out tonight for a thrutch, I remember my first fuel bill for the first week, 70 quid!!! but worth every penny and every drop of juice. Also had a weekend on the Isle of Wight with my bruv in law and his S2. Absolutely brilliant, two of us just cruisin and blasting and grinning, yeah I remember and I will not forget. Is this experience better than sex. 
My firts drive in the S when t was mine was driving back from the New Forest to Herts.... so much fun booting it from 80 every time a BMW thaught they would have a go

I was made redundant a few years ago and then found an alternative job straight away so decided I'd spend my pay off on a lovely S.
I phoned around and most had sold but I then found one that had just been advertised.
A 4 hour drive to Bournemouth and we arrived and looked at this lovely blue S and went out for a spin and I was smitten. Off to the bank we went in the owners other car (an XK8) and the S was mine.
What a lovely drive home we had (via the New Forest
), my wife in my BMW and me in the S with the roof down all the way home, fantastic. I still have some nice photos of that first day.

I thought there was only me and a guy from Cramlington with a white S3 in the N.E. I bought some bits from him a couple of weeks back.

I bought it 2 months ago from a crooked Glasgow garage, and I only got it on the road last week. Not been to any meets at all yet, but that will change! 2nd Sunday of each month isn't it?
Yes thats right I have only been a couple of times myself when I had my M Series but have not yet been with my S as I have only had it a few weeks and have had a few things to sort out ( like some Tw@t scraping the full length of it in a car park ). I don't think they get many S' at the meet so we can keep the S flag flying in the future.
Ahh that grin, the one that suggests you've got a coat hanger stuck in your mouth! the engine note fills the ears, the seller is but a broken sobbing mess thats getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror.
Yep i can remeber, that first drive is specail, had the car for six months now and the grin hasnt gone away, wife thinks ive gone loopy.
