Wanted to re-dye the soft top this weekend, so nipped to the near-by MGOC shop to buy what I now realise to be 'proofer' instead of the ‘colourer’ I needed!

The question is, now I have re-sealed the faded look,

....will the colour reviver work on top?

It should do, thatch. I always kept the hood of my MG well proofed and had no problem when it came to using the colour reviver (not used the colour restorer on the Chim yet).

My advice would be to put it on very thin, and build up a few coats as it soaks in. The waterproofer will mean that it does take longer to absorb, so you will want to take your time to avoid the colour restorer running off.

You should also have a damp cloth ready to remove any overspill quickly, and go over any areas where there has been overspill with Autoglym's Super Resin Polish; to make sure all the restorer is off the paint.
