Anyone ever considered entering a PH team for this show? It looks like a massive giggle and the addeed bonus of this new series is that you could rub shoulders with Lisa Rogers.Thats worth making a TW@ of myself on national TV me thinks!

A friend of mine has been filming for this over about the last four weekends in Oxford somewhere, watch out for a 25 foot long Cortina with an astro turf putting green on the back.

If you're serious about this entering a PH team for Scrapheap Challenge I could probably ensure that your application arrives on the right desk...

I know someone who works or used to work for RDF who wouldnt mind doing me a favour...

Matt.

The website link to the application form is here:

www.channel4.com/science/microsites/S/scrapheap/apply/

I'd also love to go on it.

Just imagine the "Pistonheads Scraphead challenge qualifying" at BT&P:

We want more power from this TVR engine. One hour....

GO!

I would suggest that any PH qualification competition should involve the creation of a speed camera decapitating machine (V8 powered obvioulsy).

I went out with Cathy Rogers (briefly) when I was at school. She didn't sport short hair, whacky waistcoats and dodgy military helmet/goggle combinations in those days... Fabulously dirty sense of humour though

Who's this Lisa Rogers then? I know she's not Cathy's younger sister (although she was very nice as I recall)

I've just spoken to the mate who I thought was doing "Panic Mechanic" and found out it's a new show with a working title of Thunder Races being made by Lizard Productions with Adrian Simpson doing the commentry. The general idea is you get £800 budget to buy something older than 1975 make it longer than 25 feet and then race it over a 6 miles rally cross type course. On his show they had a Beatle, a Merc and the MKII Cortina they found in a breakers with a Rover V8 lump in it !!! Prop shaft took most of the day to fabricate but try finding a decent sized engine on front wheel drive pre 75 !!! They are looking for teams now so it might be worth a look.

What's the point of the "longer than 25 ft" bit ? Or isn't there one. Sounds good fun though.
