Rear wiper stuck mid wipe

I have an A3 8p, for some reason the rear wiper is stuck on a similar to service position. Not too sure how to get it to go back to its original position. Any advice?

Replace the wiper motor. It's full of water.

The washer pipe runs through the middle, there is no sealing washer and they leak over time and rust out the gearbox for the mechanism.

As stated you need to replace it.

As long as the motor is getting power (easy to check) then that's what it will be; a very common failure on that model of A3.
