What to look out for

A proper rear light conversion. If the conversion is done wrong, it can damage the Smart Junction Box. If it's an old conversion, it should be reasonably safe to assume it's OK.
The other thing is to check for water ingress on the SJB which is in the passenger footwell (I think) because that can screw everything up too.
Check the plugs have been changed at some point. Older cars had two piece plugs that snapped when you tried to remove them as a result of build-up on the plug tip.
Check everything works. The alternators can go on these and check how old the battery is as these last about 5-7 years.
Door handles can protrude slightly and not quite return. Easy enough to correct but the door has to be stripped down to put a small nut on the mechanism that Ford were too cheap to fit.
Other than that, look for the best spec. Premium has leather seats and steering wheel. The deluxe plastic wheel and dash is not very attractive. Look for a 6 gauge dash.
Headlights are weedy and the thin plastic allows them to mist up in rain.
Seat handles to get the seat forward can break.
Other than that, pretty bulletproof and easy to take apart.
Parts are cheap enough as long as they are not big when shipping costs are high. You can get service parts off ebay - oil filter is a Mondeo V6 for example.
Check for any little additions as stock Mustangs are rare indeed.

If you have a link to the advert pop it up, there are a lot on the market that have been imported from Europe or the far east that have been written off/heavy accident damage, repaired and put up for dale here as there is no history check for you to do.

Thanks LuS1fer and saleen836 for your pointers . I became the owner of a 2007 4.6 GT .I checked all my knowledge and the points you made . All good ,and agree with the Flimsy headlight covers ,they are a bit kak .Is there a better alternative ? Here is a pic .

At the moment Skydriver,yes.Its a much more driveable car.But its early days ,I only got it last Thursday,I hope I'm not disappointed come summertime . LuS1fer I got it from a garage in Lichfield and the mechanic sorted the conversion .I think the indicators were marker lights originally,but he changed them to indicators . The outside red lights were indicators and are now sides along with the next one ,ie 4 side lights.
