Engine Diagnostic help please....

Can anyone tell me which sensors are ignored on cold start with an Elise S1?
My car starts and runs fine from cold, using the autochoke, but once it reaches normal operating temperatures it either hunts for an idle and dies - if ticking over - or just cuts out completely if driving.
The immobiliser seems then to be engaged such that re-starting the engine is impossible until some minutes have passed. All fuel pump noises are normal but no starter motor is engaged. I assume that the engine management has received a signal saying that the engine could receive damage if it continues running, i.e. a faulty sensor, that is why it shuts down. Am I wrong?
All temps look normal on the start up process.
So far I have changed the fuel filter and MFRU but still the same problem occurs.
Seems strange as the car behaves so normally if the engine is kept cold!!
Would a Lotus checking tool diagnose the problem? If so where can I get one from?
All advice welcome as no Lotus dealers here in Finland!!

I'm not familiar with the s1, But if equipped with a lambda sensor, this will be ignored as the engine needs more fuel to aid starting and cold running. A coolant temperature sensor then helps the ECU to appropiately control the air/fuel mixture and time out the open loop (cold running) and time in closed loop running(lambda control of mixture) and susequent fueling.
If not lambda equipped, the coolant temp sensor will still be telling the ECU what temperature the engine is at, by it's resistance value which changes with temperature.
If the coolant temp sensor fails, then the fueling(apprpiate while cold) is too rich when the engine is at temp and causes rich misfires.
If it is not the coolant temp sensor , then you may have an intake tract leak that may be confusing the ECU.
