4C numberplate placement
Discussion
Hi all
Picked up my first Alfa Romeo today, a 4C spider, absolutely thrillled with it
The dealership said the car looks much better with out the plate, and supplied it in the boot!
It does look great, but concerned I may be pulled over,
Just wondering how folks have attached the front plates? Or if there could be group with the police if I’m stopped without the plate on

4.5 years combined ownership of 2 4c’s front plate in the boot unless I go abroad, I have a smaller plate fir abroad 305x75 which goes on the bumper with double sided tape. Been stopped once and n the uk, just had a chat and he actually agreed it’s hard to fit a plate. The penalty is £100 and no points, if you are repeatedly caught I understand it’s more serious , I’ve heard attempting to pervert the course of Justice is a possible charge . I would advise varying the plate and some double sided tape and see what happens, it’s rare to see a pooliceman these days anyway

Many thanks
An alternative experience is as follows -
Dealer had fitted a very small plate to the front grill. I'd had the car for 3 whole weeks.
A policeman followed me for about 45 minutes in very heavy traffic (Saturday before Xmas), before pulling me over and giving me a ticket. No failure of any attitude test - he was straight into writing out the ticket - no discussion, no chat, no mister nice guy.
I now have a normal size plate, cut down as far as is legal, attached to the front grill using cable ties.

My car didn’t have a plate on when I picked it up, but decided I’d fit one.
Bought a small plate and made my own bracket.
Two short pieces of flat aluminium and a tube of Tigerseal - glue the metal to the grill, let dry.
Apply number plate with sticky pads
Easy.
