I'm about to buy a 2019 911 turbo s . All black, black rims, carbon fiber throughout. Want the car as much like a sports car as possible. But without being garish.

Already chosen the Bordeaux Red deviated stitching. Given that, your opinions please on adding the following.
Cost is NOT a consideration; max sportiness is:

1) Bordeaux red instrument dials?
2) If the BR colored instrument dials chosen, what about BR also for the sport chrono stopwatch dial? Yes, it's round, and a dial, but it's not part of the driving experience. Thinking that in BR color, that dial becomes a distraction, with so much else in black. But worried about consistency with instrument dials. I'm leaning 'no'.

too much imho, and too much distraction. I'd be more concerned with what makes the dials easiest to read

Red is the fastest colour, surely, so red stitching and dials must be a contributor to maximum sportiness ;-)

On a more serious note, I have a 991 GT3 with black interior, but with red stitching and red dials, including the sport chrono dial. I bought it used, so wasn't 100% sure at first about the red instruments, but I can honestly say they aren't a distraction in day to day use. At night even less so, as they just look black. Feedback from any "non car" people who've seen it has been very positive; the dials lift the otherwise dark interior. Having said all that, if I was spec'ing a car from new, I would go for the deviated stitching but would leave the dials black. I think I prefer the dark dials to the white/silver dials on my last Turbo. Regardless, they should all be the same colour, either all black or all red!

If I can raise one purely aesthetic irritation about my car, it would be that the red stitching and dials clash with my yellow PCCB callipers (I know, I know...). If the Turbo S comes with PCCBs as standard, you might want to think about yellow stitching against everything else black for the ultimate in geeky colour coordination.

There you go, I've just confirmed the stereotype that GT3 owners are actually only concerned with stitching colour... :-)

I love a bit of deviated stitching My GT3 has yellow stitching but my Macan Turbo PP has Garnet Red (dark red) deviated stitching which gets many positive comments.

Personally I am not a fan of coloured dials so wouldn't do it....although I think the SC dial in red on it's own would look pretty good.

I have gone right off coloured stitching and hate red dials.

So you just have to buy what you want reallly, I also don’t like black cars !

Sorry.

On a non GT Porsche but TTS in black I would definitely go Platinum stitching which will lift the dark exterior and provide a nice contrast to the darkish interior and carbon fibre.

You say you want to avoid garish but are going for yellow stitching and dials? Not a good idea on a TTS.

If you want an injection of colour you could go either yellow belts or platinum belts would be fine in a TTS.

Have look at the interior of this one.The bucket seats are they key to making a 991 feel more sporty as it really is a big GT. The race seats really do change the experience especially with new 50 cel Europipe exhaust for 991 turbo wink . If money no object I'd order a set of these and fit them aftermarket as you can't order them in US which is a shame.

Thread resurrection, pardon the pun.. so can someone confirm to me that Garnet Red Stitching is the same as Carrera Red Stitching? I need to replace an interior piece and my options on the Porsche parts computer are Alcantara with Carmine Red Stitching or Carrera Red Stitching, no Garnet Stitching which my Macan Turbo comes with. To my eyes Carmine Red Stitching on the GTS looks brighter than my Garnet Stitching, and now I just discovered in German language they changed Carrerarot to Granatrot.. which then by the Brit’s got translated to Garnet Red!! So I’m guessing Carrera Red Stitching is the same as Garnet Red Stitching, but can someone more knowledgeable than me help out here.. Macan Turbo Interior Pack came in Garnet Stitching, Macan GTS Interior Pack came in Carmine Stitching…

Thank you. One of the guys nails it on the thread. Garnet/Carrera Red is more like cranberry, that’s what it looks like to me over the brighter Carmine Red. Appreciated.
