Will Real Madrid be in the CL next year!?

Almost halfway through the La Liga season and they're in 5th place. I I know it's not too far from 3rd place in terms of points....but it's almost unthinkable isn't it, if they wouldn't be in the CL next year? When was the last time Real Madrid weren't in the top European competition?? Do we think they were just relying on Ronaldo too much!?
