Been looking for a SUV that can tow a 3.2 tonne boat and do a 5 hour commute 3 days a week.

Choices were the new X5 (G01 I think), Landcruiser Sahara (200 series) and RRS.

Ended up with the RRS Sport as it's nice compromise between the two and the facelift looks great to my eyes.
I really like the Duo Pro screen but not so happy they don't have Apple Car Play as yet.

Anyhow, just paid the deposit so we'll see what happens.... fingers crossed it's reliable!!

Congrats!

I'm also on the lookout for an upgrade from my X5 and have been considering RRS (2017) but as of this weekend I've started to look at Cayenne S 4.2. I mainly use it for motorway journeys and towing a track car.

The reliability is the only thing putting me off a RRS. The X5, statistically, is the most reliable SUV on the market…yet mine has not been. So I'm not sure I could live with buying another car that has any issues after the hassle with the X5. But I do prefer the waftyness of the RRS over any other similar SUV.

I doubt it will be reliable. Did you get a decent warranty? Latest RRS is the best looker of all the new LRs IMO. I fancy one when they hit 10 years old. Should just about be in my budget by then! LR infotainment is always well behind the competition. Their insistence on using all touch interface when other premium manufacturers use dials and similar (BMW, Merc and Audi) always baffles me.

I'm not so bothered by Apple CarPlay, but Android Auto doesn't appear to be adopted as much as Apple's offering. As an Android user for personal phone, that concerns me a little bit.

I had an RRS (current shape) for 4 years (79k miles) and had perfect reliability - absolutely nothing went wrong. This has only ever been matched by a Mercedes E350 I once had - certainly better than my experience with BMW and Porsche.

Now have a Disco 5 which, so far, has also been perfect.

I think that the reliability concerns are overwrought and mainly relate to minor issues or overstretched dealers - something that their competitors also suffer with.

Audi have just ditched their MMI dial for touch screen only

And you can have ACP/AA on JLR ICTP via the Smart Phone pack

I had an 18MY RRS which was great other than the glitchy infotainment. I've now got a 19MY with the latest software updates which includes Android Auto / Apple Car Play and it's faultless, absolutely love it

Hope you have more luck than my Dad and his facelifted model. He is currently sat at work waiting for LR Assist...again...as the car will not move due to a handbrake fault. Third time this fault has happened.

LR Assist have been out a further 2 times for suspension faults.

Shame as his previous model was faultless.
