Hello everyone,
I had a new 1991 Esprit Turbo SE in France, which aparently (vin#) was a North America chassis and engine specs !
What ever, after only 10 000 miles and a "more than" regular service, the dealer had to replace the Turbo under warranty because of the intercooler line that broke (turbo overheated), a 100 miles after this replacement the car took fire ! in the turbo area !
Aparently a fuel line (the return from the injection rail) had a scratch on it''s surface (like a screwdriver scratch) and this caused a gas leak...
Off course the dealer has nothing to do with it ! as Lotus for the quality of the fuel line !
The dealer says he didn''t touch the fuel line (replaced the turbo without removing the intake !, Lotus says it is required to do so); anyway I''m still in court against that dealer.
Does anyone ever heard of overheating problems or fire problem that can be reated to my nightmare ?
Thank you
