Anyone going? My brother has his first race of the season and I hope to try out my new camera lens too. Should be a nice day for a trip out in the Viper

I'm going. 1st race ever for me. I doubt anyone other than the security guard & his cat will be watching though as it doesn't start until 5.45pm

You must be racing the Milltek BMW's then? That's my brothers race too - good chance it will get cancelled that late in the day? I hope to be racing his car in the Kumho series for a couple of races

I'll try and look out for you, but this is all I've got to go on

Nice little tussle going on between those two. Nice shot, did you take it from the Paddock Grandstand, or to the left of Paddock?

Paddock Grandstand - my brother said he was in car 85 so took a few, but the damn fencing keeps getting in the way!

Here's one of my brother I liked

Yes that was me in 85. There was a bit of paint swapping going on, but that's what rubbing strips are for aren't they ?

Qualifying was a disaster with the car refusing to rev above 3500rpm so I just managed to get a few (very slow) laps in before the oil smoke in the cabin got too much for me. We changed the ECU & cleaned the AFM for the race but couldn't test if it worked under load. Got a cracking start and overtook 6 cars before the first bend but sadly it was red flagged on lap 2 so I had to start from the back again for the restart. Got past 4 on the second attempt then had a great fight for a fair chunk of the race - I was overtaking into & through Paddock then kept throwing it away again at Druids.

Excellent fun and managed to finish 17th in my first ever race from a starting point of 25th so I was quite happy.

I think your brother has had a little more experience :-)

I was at Brands this weekend but did not realise a PH'er was racing.
Was the chap who got hit in the side causing the red flag OK. Looked like a big hit.
Great weekend and great racing. The willer of your race made the best pass from paddock hill bend and upto druids. It looked like he was sideways on the outside of druids and was first into Graham Hill. Fabulous stuff.
Some pics from the weekend (Camped from Thurs at about 3pm) on here www.pbase.com/rex911/brands_hatch_

yea..the driver of the t-boned car was fine. He had just fitted a race seat with those "ears" on them and was very happy as they made sure he didnt suffer too much with the sideways impact. There was a bit of paint rubbing and he span so sat sideways on the apex at clearwaters (I think thats the name) It then dawned on him that there still was the rest of the 23 car strong pack to come thru on the first lap..LOL.. so he just sat and waited for the inevitable. The black car litarally had no where to go as he popped thru the tyre smoke and nailed him side on on the rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel.
Also the guy who tankslapped all the way down Paddock got applause from spectators and the BMW estate car that only needed a plastic dog in the back to complete the image.

If you fancy some good pics of the day have a look at the following

www.jpemotorsport.fotopic.net/

My Sister, Brother in law and Dad all race together in the classic touring car. Sister is the girl with the Renault 5 and Dad is the guy in the E20 323 (Bright Yellow) that apparently had a big off just after clearways!

Nice pics.

I especially like the one of the number 25 FPA Bombardier car (IMG_5436-01) because that is my friend doing his stuff. He had an absolute stormer in the first race (from the back to 6th or 7th) but didn't do so well in the second .

Was a very very good weekend, me and my g/f got sunburnt faces too!!!

If I remember rightly then I kept a good eye on him and the SC sponcered car as they were the most wild around paddock hill bend. Always looked on the ragged edge especially in 1st race. If he wants a copy of the pic then let me know and I can upload it to www.photoboxgallery.com/rex and let him print it out from there.
I will probably have some futher pics so will have a look and re post to let you know.
If any one else wants pics the mail me and I can upload originals.
