Just out of interest, at what mm of tread would you change your rear tyres?

3mm.

I'm just changing mine at 5mm but that's due to sidewall cracking at 6-7 years old. 3mm would be an absolute minimum for me on all my cars let alone the Tuscan. Just pondering whether to ditch the Touaregs at 4.5mm as we've got an Alps trip coming up. I always think its not worth gambling with the only thing connecting you to the road. As soon as they feel "off" they're off, irrespective of tread, miles or car type.

Food for thought, mine are at 3.5 in the centre with a bit more on the inner/outer edges.
