Hi Everyone,

I'm selling my 2013 MK7 GTD but following a dead key battery a few months ago I had to pop the cap off which covers the physical lock to manually gain access to the car (used more frequently than you'd like as these keys melt through batteries!) and after putting it back on it fell off sometime whilst driving.

Does anyone know the part number or somewhere that I could by a black replacement? My assumption is it's exactly the same for any VW MK7 motor and I've poorly annotated around the area that it pops off from below to show the place and thanks in advance for your assistance!

Graphic design not my forte as observable!

Cheers,

Charles

Your local TPS, if they sell to the public, otherwise a VW dealer. It probably comes primered so you might need to have it painted.

Mine throws a warning on the display on almost a metronomic annual basis - I just replace shortly before its service is due.

For the OP it might be best to find a matching colour 2nd hand cover through a breakers, although they may be reluctant to sell without the whole handle. Depends on local labour rates for painting a new replacement....

I remember mine burning through the key battery rather easily too! Odd on a car without keyless entry

As it's a Black car you'll probably be fine with a used part as it's unlikely to stand out loads if the colour differs a tiny bit

Mine has full keyless - think it remained standard on 5 doors after they'd dropped it from standard spec on the 3 door?

Mine was a May 2015 build car so missed out on the standard fit keyless by a couple of weeks frown
