I am looking for wet weather sprint tyres for my Striker (it rains a lot here in Scotland)

Avon CR28s have been suggested, anyone got experience/feedback on these, or a suggestion of something better.

I use ACB10s at the moment but they don't look like they would be too good on a wet track.

Do they have to be listed in the blue book?

For the events I do they have to be road legal, 'E' marked.

Do you have a recommendation ?

Avon CR28s

I have no experience of these tyres so cannot say, sorry.

However will chase about. (Yoko 21's ring a bell as a wet tyre on the 750 club scene, however, george polley talked about 32ss being better in the wet than 21's if less than "standing water" however chassis set up now comes into play.

Me, for the road, wet and squirty, I'd have the 21's track use may put too much heat into them unless standing water isn't a factor so back to 32'ss with full tread.

Obviously you HAVE to work the tyres up to a working temp to have any consistancy in results, and this can (or rather failure to do this) affect perception of how ypur tyres feel in a given enviroment.

I use Yoko A021's on the front of my road rally car, they cope with damp tarmac / standing water / mud / fords with ease, once they've warmed up.

Not quite the same as a sprint, but I'd recommend them.

CR28 but must be the Sport are the best wet tyre for your car. Everyone used them in 750mc kit cars championship a few years ago when it was allowed to use a wet tyre as well as a dry.
Brilliant in the wet but crap in the dry as they are way too soft and have loads of tread flex so overheat very quickly.
You'll find a huge difference in wet weather performance over the ACB10's as not only do they shift more water but the soft tread means a more gradual and therefore predictable breakaway on the limit.
Proven on the track but would probably make a great all round road tyre given the lower speeds on the roads.

I have been away for a while so have not been able to thank you for the reply and in the meantime have bought a set of CR28s, I am unclear as to the correct fitment though, are they similar to the ACB10s in rotation ?
