Hi I currently have a gtr r35 660bhp but have always wanted a c7 corvette but been put off by the whole left hand thing ! But the time has come where I'm ready to change the gtr in but as with most gtr owners finding the next car is a hard fast as the performance is hard to match unless you go ferrari lambo etc ?hence what brings me back to the c7!

I have also been looking at the new 6th gen camero zl1, what are people's opinions on both ? C7 z06 or camaro zl1 ? I also have the tuning bug so potentially may go down the procharger route at some point if I got one . If left hand that big a pain in the ass ?

It's of no consequence to me. I've driven Vettes, Camaros, Mustangs and numerous other LHD cars and have never found it to be a problem.

At these power levels, left hand drive is less of an issue.

Hmmm - Procharger on a supercharged engine. That makes all kinds of sense.

I did have a quick look at the hellcats but feel they are bit of a one trick pony and not agile enough for me

I'm not sure why you seem so shocked by that?

Because both come with the LT4 engine which is already supercharged. If you like tinkering you can buy a bigger supercharger instead of adding a second one to add to the first.

I feel like you are confused ! Procharger is just a brand of centrifugal supercharger you don't run it along side the stock blower .

So you'd take the stock supercharger off and then add another supercharger in a different location?

The car they are raving about is the new ZL1 1LE which they favour over the Corvette but that would have to be a new car.

For looks, it has to be the C7 but Corvettes have expanded so the ZL1 may be more practical.
When I had a C5, it was irksome that people kept calling it a Ferrari.
When I had Camaros, people called it a Mustang....

I have driven GTR, ZL1 and Z06. I always found that the regular versions of the American muscle cars were the sweet spot as they were using all the available 2wd traction.

I would stick with the GTR, it has far better traction and can actually use the power on UK roads.

If you absolutely have to change, I would try to stretch to a GT3 or 2017 up R8V10. Better than spending money on mods on a car that frustrates you.

Haven't driven C7 Z06 - but have driven C7 auto (in my old capacity as CCCUK chairman) - and I was very impressed with 'stock' C7 and especially with traction control - drove from main dealer on a winter day with damp, slippery muddy roads - the sort of roads that most dealers wouldn't let anyone do a test drive. And I drove it hard - traction/handling control so good it almost seemed to be imperceptible - very rewarding drive. As for LHD vs RHD - the driving position on a C7 is perhaps a bit more forward than on previous Vette marques - so good visibility (from the LHD seat position) and only ever an issue when emerging out of a T junction at perhaps an acute angle.
