Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read

My current car is a Lancia Integrale 16v (in profile). It has had head work, cams, uprated turbo, custom exhaust, new ecu etc etc. All in all it runs about 300bhp. I also have a fully adjustable Konis suspension set up every setting can be altered. It is currently set up to oversteer slightly but being rear wheel bias does that anyway so it can be quite fun . I am also having Brembo 4 pots fitted on the 3rd of October when the car goes in for a full tune up and suspension set up

Anyway, what I'm thinking of doing is turning her into a rally car for the road. I currently have a nice Alpine stereo with a Planet Audio Amp and Cerwin Vega speakers. I bought this because I am a real music lover and as I was using the car as my daily drive needed a good system. Now I have got the mighty Corsa, the grale is not my daily drive any more.

So, should I completely strip out the interior, add a roll cage and some real bucket seats and harnesses? I'm also getting a more audible back box soon as the current one meets all track noise regulations, that way I can swap between them. I already have the right wheels so that helps I may also add rally mudflaps and if I can source one, a roof vent (think they look the dogs danglies). I'm not adding any decals so that would be all the 'mods'. Would this affect resale value? It sort of screams 'I have been driven hard'.

Anyway, any comments appreciated. The performance mods are all sorted so it would be weight saving, and just cos it's bloody cool

I've never seen an Integrale that said "Just used for the shopping"

In terms of weight saving, if you add a full MSA roll cage that'll more than make up for stripping the interior, so the car will be heavier.

If you plan on entering some events then fair enough, otherwise you'll be ruining a perfectly good road car!

You know what, I was thinking the same thing.
As you know the GTIR oversteers for England and to be honest the Grale whipped its arse in rallying, along with everything else, but I was planning on stripping mine out just for track use.

Its going to have a whiteline handling kit stuffed on it in a month, that will vastly improve the handling. No more understeer

Go for it, if I bought one I would go for one that had been driven rather than polished.

I don't uderstand. Are you saying I should ask for his advice or that I am like him? Because I'm not sure stripping the interior out of a rally type car that already has had (proper) performance mods, and was already a true pedigree sports car is anything like putting a Ferrari engine in a Punto.

I'm sorry if my car isn't up to your standards, but I'm 23 ffs and given it has had around 11k spent on it (allbeit not all by me ) you would expect it to be quite a decent car. Anyway, I'm truly sorry if this sounded like a Chassis thread but I wanted some serious comments about what to do with my car. Seems I'm better not bothering

If that's not what you meant, fair enough, but it's how it comes across.

Don't put the cage in or strip the interior out. You would crucify the resale value.

None of the above.

A poor attempt at lighthearted humour

Well then that is ok isn't it, still not told me what I should do though have you

Anyway, if I was thinking along the lines of Chassis I'd be trying to saw my engine in half and make it into two motorbike engines to get more power

I think it would be a shame to faff around with it. I know I take the piss (of it not being a quattro )but Integrales are lovely cars, and rare in good nick. If you want to go the whole rally hog get an Impreza - then it won't matter if you wreck it.

To be honest all that extra rally gear would be wasted if you're not heading off for the forests. I know it's not the done thing to say this here, but even in it's current form your car is plenty fast enough to go well beyond what is safe on the public highway - right, Madcop?

Cheers mungo and yertis, glad you both appreciate her . There is one not far from me in Martini colours, it does look very nice, he's also stripped it and put in proper seats etc. The one thing I'm sure I will do is get proper seats and harnesses, I just know they would inspire so much more confidence than the standard recaros. Apart from that, who knows
