Hi All,
I was jus wondering what tyre pressures you all put in the front and back tyres of a S1 Lotus Elise.
I am running the Yokohoma Advan LTS tyres if that makes a difference.
I know it may sound silly but have only had the car a few weeks and just wanted to test the tyre pressure to make sure I get the ideal pressure for the car.
Also in the engine bay of my S1 the coolant level is looking low but still above the minimum, do you just put a normal coolant in, or do you use a special type of Lotus coolant or some equivalent.
Cheers for your responses to my very obvious questions.
Alex.

I spent some time talking with a colleague (and fellow Elise owner) at work about the whole coolant thing. He's had his car for quite a few years and gave me lots of useful info about this subject...
Be very careful with which coolant you put in if you do ever top it up. There are at least two very different types. If it's flourescent yellow/green then it's probably the MEG type, if it's pink/orange, it's probably the OAT type.
My car has a yellow plastic ring around the cap (can't miss it) which clearly states OAT on it.
Don't ever mix MEG and OAT as it creates horrible sludge in the radiator :-( My mate's experience, not mine fortunately.
It's best to use exactly the same type of coolant as was originally used when it was last flushed, but if you don't know the exact make, then go for demineralised/battery top-up water.
This should be fine, as long as you don't end up putting 8 litres of the stuff in the system (thus replacing all the original coolant)!
As other's have said, most cars seem to settle at or just under Min anyway, so just keep an eye on it everytime you put something in the boot.
HTH.
