Anyone tried 215/50/15 tyres on their car ??

Considering some more extreme tyres for the S and thought I might try Toyo R888's next time around . They seem to have recieved a lot of good reviews and are quiet a lot cheaper than the ADVANS a lot of other marques use, lotus et al who now rave about them.

Apart from the obvious, they might be intersting in the wet comments , still welcome to make them though. Anyone have any issues with the sizing, particulary as its another 10mm down in diameter than the current standard 205/55/15 .
Evden better anyone have any experience of R888's or ADVANS/Ao34's on their TVR.

50 profile, you'll lose loads of ground clearance won't you? I think it may also make the wheels look a little small on the car, with 15s. Maybe with 16s??

You would only lose approx .4 of an inch ground clearance and your speedo would be reading very slightly over speed

Standard is 205/60/15 (629mm o/a dia) so a 215/50/15 is 6% undersized (or 3/4" closer to the ground than standard on a car that is notorious for catching the exhaust) whereas the max. recommended undersize is about 2 or 3% so the suspension angles won't be too clever. Probably worth buying a set of trackday wheels in 16" then you can have the 205/55/16f & 225/50/16r set up. www.toyo.co.uk/index.php?fuseaction=car.R888
