Send your Kids Racing
Discussion
I was at a test day recently at Castle Combe, the T-Car kiddies were there also.
They had to have 2 of the 5 sessions to themselves which didn't please the assembed masses.
Two of the drivers arrived in (I kid you not) a Bentley and a helicopter while the cars arrived seperately in an entourage befitting an F1 team.
The attitude of the fathers I spoke to on the pit wall was appalling, typical pushy motorsport father attitude, with an "Oi am considerabloy richer than yow are" edge. Several of the drivers themselves had obviously been learning social skills from their fathers.
I came away with the impression that T-cars are populated by spoiled brats, with a cost barrier set so high that only the super rich have a chance of competing.
If this is the alternative to single seaters for kids graduating from karts, I pity those not affluent enough to compete financially.

oooh dont get me started on T Cars.
name a succesful T Car driver!?, the few that know T Cars name Tom Boardman of BTCC fame, he who is doing his best to reduce the number of Puegeot 306's in a driveable condition.
The level of driving is possibly the worst I have ever seen and how a person can call themselves a racing driver when they were lapping combe in the 1m40s is beyond me!. i reckon I could cycle Castle Combe in not much more than 3 minutes!
I was at a test day at Brands and the T Car entourage were there, granted no one turned up in a helicopter but when I asked what experience the driver in the next garage had, he replied he had watched a few races on television but had enough cash to pay for any mistakes!....grrrrrrrrrr
a years karting and a year in FFord would be worth so much more but I doubt the kids or their famailes are that concerned about the racing.......
