Has anyone used DB Autozug to transport a car?

I'm trying to find a way to transport my 7 down to the Alps to save time and tyres. Anyone used DB Autozug in Germany or tried alternative ways of getting down there from the UK? Had a quote from a UK company at £2000 return to Nice!
