Right so as you can guess I am currently living in France with a UK car well 2 actually. A snotter and a classic - I can get insurance for them with no issues. Through Stuart Collins and Andrew something, cannot remember off the top of my head...

Now I took the hots to the Ginetta G40; it seemed fairly sensible, super safe, small engine etc I was thinking this is going to be easy to get insurance on, about as much risk an a MX5 ish. But nobody will insure me for one. I have 10 years NCB so its not my profile but just the car.

I have tried a ton of insurers in the last coupe of days and non of them will touch it from the usual suspects to the more unusual ones. So does anybody have any suggestions? I even considered importing one but from research you can forget that too.

So does anybody have a UK registered Kit car or similar like the Ginetta etc. That is insured for the full year in France which gives them a green card or equivalent.

Alternatively I do have a lead on a provider but I would need to use the car competitively, when I was in the UK many years ago I used todo AutoTests - does anybody know of
1) What an autotest is called in france? Google translate was no use.
2) Any friendly Auto clubs in the Alsace (France) / Baden Württemberg (Germany) region that maybe do hill climbs, Auto tests, road rally's anything really - english speaking even better! I didnt even think of driving competitively would be an option but now they suggested it I would like to entertain that option.

I know I am asking alot in my first post on here but I need some help - to make my dreams come true!

@terry - Thanks for the reply. Hagerty don't want to know as its too new. And Stuart Collins have quite strict restrictions on drivers who was under 30, Im 28.

The french equivalent of the Motorsports Association (MSA) in France might be good starting point

https://www.ffsa.org/

You might need to brush up on your French or improve your online translations skills though.

Montagne would be Hillclimbs as far as I know.

Sprint type events on closed roads are pretty popular in France as well.
Never come across anything similar to a UK autotest in France, there again I've never gone looking!!

There are a number of small circuits in the middle of nowhere in France for trackday action. Sometimes a Local marie/community see it as a matter of pride to have a local circuit or motorsport event, nimbys appear to be less of problem that in the UK IMHO.
