Is it true that Tesco are doing 99RON petrol, and if so, where!! Someone told me that there is a website which tells you where, but I can't find it, for the life of me!

I just copied the list off another forum.

But the one I used is on there, and no-one has said otherwise so I guess its accurate so far.

Don't know about Sevenoaks, but I went to Gallions Reach lastnight, which is near London City Airport, in a new shopping area, and it indeed was there, 99RON at 85.9p a litre, which is bloody cheap as SUL goes..... The Teg loves it.....

So you all have automatically advancing, knock sensing ignitions then?

I reckon a lot of this whole octane thing is in a lot of peoples heads.

oooh aren't we a clever dick!

whether it's in my head or not, it does seem to make a difference, and even if it doesn't, it isn't much more expensive than regular unleaded!

It's on the opposite side of the roundabout from the Aston Martin / Jaguar dealership on the run out from Sevenoaks at the bottom of the hill through Riverhead.

I haven't been there to look for this 'magic' fuel, but I'm sure I will before the weekend is out!

Only old school cars dont have automated knock sensing & advance control. 80% of the cars on the road nowadays do.

Well I'm no tech - but the filler cap has 95/98 RON written on it ... that'll do me!

As for whether the effects are noticable or not, I ran one tank full through and didn't really notice much of a kick, however when I then switched back to 95 RON juice I did notice a slow down in acceleration (particually at low revs before the turbo kicks in) - I'm now back on the good stuff!

Like he said opposite the Aston dealer....not having a go, but will you really notice any difference in a Yaris?..I would have thought the car was set for 95 octane?

Ahh I thought I might try it once. The yaris ECU is quite advanced so will compensate. Not going to do it any harm and might as well treat me and the car I leave it for big chunks of time while at uni.
