I'd actually gone looking for some thick plastic sheet that I could use to make something for the TVR, must have included the word 'milling' in the search and found that monster....

I think you can get pills for this hallucityping thing... you know subconsciously dropping in words where they don't belong... even worse is when you wake up and they're not there anymore
Come to think of it, I was roped into a job a few years back one New Year's Eve in Bradford.
There was a new FPSO ship being built and the bow bearing inner race had been welded up and machined at this semi-derelict machine shop. I was there with 40 Curies of Cobalt-60 so that the radiographers could shoot the welds. The bearing race was about 25 feet high, 15 feet across and maybe 8 or 10 inches thick.
It was stood on a turntable set into the workshop floor. The t/table was actually part of a a milling machine, I think it was about 50 feet across. The cutting tool was attached to a tractor that ran on a rack and pinion in the floor.
Now the problem was that the circumferential weld was about 15 feet off the floor and we only had about 12 feet of hose for the source to travel down. We used the overhead crane to lift the half-ton Cobalt container off the floor and positioned the hose where the source needed to be.
The problem then was that the windout cable hung down under the container instead of horizontally away from it, so the radiographer had to crank the source out then run like fhook away
The source was uncollimated and the fab shop was next to a housing estate. The shot was about 40 minutes so we sat outside in the van. The monitors were still reading too high, so the bomber decided to lock the fab shop and drove us round the corner
If there are any two-headed babies in Bradford, it's (nearly) all my fault...
Going back in was really interesting, as the bomber had to leg it across the shop (strewn with slabs of steel and bits of machinery, in failing light) to crank the source back in, all the time getting a humungous dose.
Well, must go. I need to glue my fingers back on again.....

Rather you than me mate, I remember having labs evacuated at ICI if we spilt something like 50 millicuries!
Incidently, what year was this? Since I was actually born in Bradford it could explain alot... Where there's blame there's a claim and all that...

I would've like to put that one down to signal loss due to the fresh leaves on all the trees, however in all honesty I'll have to admit to a couple of bottles of the red stuff
