If you want 100% bespoke then you have Hideout in Essex, Scott leathers up North in Barnard Castle.

Or big Dainese dealer will do custom versions of their suits - MCA Leicester is probably an hours ride for you

Can't remember the name of the age-old firm who are actually in Lincs I think - unless they have closed?

ETA - Crowtree, although the web says they are now permanently closed.

I had a nice jacket from Crowtree in the 80's as they were based in my home town of Louth ...many friends still have their Crowtree leathers, they last forever so long as your measurements dont change too much over the years wink

^ This is true. I was at Almeria and a mate had a mahoosive, high-speed off wearing Crowtree, and all that his leathers needed was a wipe-down after. I had a 50mph low side slide in a brand-new pair of leathers from another supplier. who may or may not have been mentioned on this thread, and whilst they protected me, they were ripped to shreds and needed significant (and costly) repair - and were never the same again.

Held make made to measure leat hers, you can design them online then submit your design and they'll give you a quote.

I'm tall and skinny and sent them a design, they asked for my rough measurements and their designer brought one of their off the peg slim fit suits to my house to try with the intention of taking measurements if the off the peg one wasn't a good fit.

They do stocky sizes and slim fit sizes which aren't generally sold in the UK but they will order them for you if you speak with them direct and can either come to your house or send them to a stockist for you to try on (sportsbikeshop is a stockist based in boston). Mine fit spot on and it saved me £500 vs going made to measure. Couldn't rate the service highly enough.

If you are getting bespoke leathers made then I'm sure you already understand they will be expensive and will take weeks to make. Given the time and money that you will be investing it seems strange to me that the main priority in the post above is the distance form Lincoln.

I would recommend BKS in Exmouth and Hideout. Both do top of the range suits that exceed all suit testing standards, offer significant customisation options yet, while expensive, will not be the most expensive available.

I'm on my second BKS suit, the first having done 20 years of solid service with nothing more than a couple of replacement zips. I only replaced it because it ... er ... shrunk around the waist.

Got a pair of BKS trousers a couple of weeks ago. 6 weeks from the measuring, with various extras, close to a £1000, but they are bloody great, need to save for the jacket, using my Rukka jacket at the moment. The trousers will out live me smile

I've found my Hideout leathers to be great. Crashed in three times, and still going strong (unhurt and never busted a seam). I've had them for 12 years. Been back to Kate a couple of times for a clean and to have some other bits done, but they've been great to be honest.

I also got a set of Crowtrees about 20 years ago. Still in good nick, except I can't fit into them. I keep them as an incentive to lose weight

I bought 2nd hand Crowtree leathers that were a bit of a squeeze to get into, the nice people at Hideout made them fit.

I sold my jacket in the late 90s due to size issues....ive put at least 4" on my chest over the last 35 years let alone the rest of me ...must be all that gym work smile

Often find some good used BKS/HIdeout/Crowtree on ebay, if you can find a close size to get adjusted, there are some bargains to be had compared to the new price.

Excellent advice. I have used Hideout for these adjustments and tailoring, and the service was superb. Often, you can find second-hand leathers from the likes of Hideout going for a song on eBay. And Hideout will be more than happy to tailor them to your precise size and shape. IMO, it's a smart way to get a made-to-measure über suit. Ultra-premium leathers like Hideout and BKS make Dainese feel cheap!

Hideout can also clean and refurbish the leathers (although I'm happy to clean and feed mine).

‘‘Twas what I did, £250 for a set of Crowtrees, and £400 for alterations, it’s like wearing armour!
