What's the quietest Kettle on the market?

Odd question, I know, but what do PHers reckon is the quietest cordless kettle on the market? Need a new kettle for my kitchen as the current one is so ridiculously loud it drowns out conversation! And a lot of new kettles seem to be quite noisy (judging by others I've seen in operation), and I'd like a nice quality kettle that won't make a racket boiling water... This is lovely...Kenwood SJ980 EON. It's got an inner liner, but is hideously expensive.

Sorry - all crap.

I have the quietest - it's a porsche design siemens. VERY quick and quiet. About 100 quid from memory.

On the other hand I also have the worlds noisiest toaster - damn dualit. More like a ducati

I've got an Alessi one that's almost annoyingly quiet - it usually boils without giving much clue, so I have to flick the switch again.

Yep we have one of these too...brilliant.

Has a 10 year guarantee...I think. Considering we were going through 1 kettle a year at £40 a pop, bloody good value.

I've had my pd siemens for two years and it's still like new. Usually cheap models are looking very spent by this time.

Ok, so that's the exciting topic of kettles sorted. What about vaccum cleaners?...

Girlfriend bought a dyson as it looks nice. Unfortunately it doesn't pick up fluff bits at all. Verdict - shite. i bought a panasonic dyson copy in black, as it looks blokey. Unfortunately it went wrong in three weeks! In a rage I threw it twenty foot out the back door and smashed it. Doh! Gone back to our trusty ten year old electrolux, which is still going strong.

Electrolux must be the most solid vaccum. Any contenders?
