Cage Diving - Great White Sharks

Finially getting to fulfil my lifetime ambition. We're going to South Africa next year for a friends wedding, so have decided to detour to Cape Town, and go shark diving!
No rude puns please - I know what you lot are like!!! (totally opened the door here for all fishy diving comments I fear!)
However, I'd be interested in any recommendations for companies running these trips - obviously I've googled already - I'm wondering if anyone else is a mad as me, and has done this in SA?

I did it, and thought it was absolutely awesome.
Will try and get you the details of the company's name, the guy who runs it was a proper grizzly old sea dog, bit mad (chucked a bucket of chum over me while i was in the cage 'for a laugh'), but thats part of the fun

I'm planning on getting loads of pics - one company offer an underwater photographer to accompany you...! It's not til Feb so you'll have to wait a while.

) brian is a top bloke, and complete nutter.
Boat leaves from Hermanus - and takes you to Dyer Island. We saw 5 different whities while out there, so I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've been twice now with the same company. 1st time we saw lots & I got in the cage (almost fell off & in the sea as I was getting out but near death adds to the experience ) It was one of the best things I have ever done
2nd time was choppier
so visibility wasn't as good.
I went from Hermanus (couple of hours along the coast from CT) using the Moby's backpackers deal but you can do it from CT with the same company they use. Jannie & Elmine are lovely: www.mobys.co.za/

but i bet its an experience of a lifetime. I'll just observe the pics from several continents away I think!!! 
i was in cape town over feb & march working...cage diving is a very touchy subject in south africa.
i went to simons town for a boat ride out to seal island, where they filmed "airjaws". i was there the wrong time of year, as the great whites were not yet coming into the area, but none the less a very interesting trip. if you give me an email i will dig out the guy's mobile number. apparently during the SA winter, august?, during the early morning boat trips to seal island many sharks are seen breeching out of the water as they take the seals, like a trout takes a fly.
i have every intention of going back to see them one day.
as i said cage diving is a touchy subject, as it is believed that the chumming moves the sharks from their normal feeding areas and they associate food with boats and humans, not good for the few who get munched each year around the cape point. though saying that i would like to come "face to face" with the oceans "top muncher".

Err... no!
What goes on in S Afirca is crying out for a very nasty acident to happen. There is indiscriminate chumming all over the shop and sharks now associate humans with food. It does not take long for a shark to work out that if the human has no food, "F**k it, I'll eat the human instead."
Whatever the likes of Andre Hartman (Google for him!) say, sharks are unpredictable. Ask Eric Ritter (Google for him too!). A snorkeller got eaten just the other week in W Oz.
Feeding fish in the sea - whether it be a GWS or a guppy - upsets the ecosystem.
Go, have a nice time, but remember that it's not what you should really be doing ...!
