Anyone who's been on the southbound contraflow between Junctions 3 & 4 on the M3 will know that there are 2 southbound and 3 northbound lanes on the same carriageway for about 7 miles.

On the inside lane of the contraflow, you get 3 inches each side of you between your tyres and the cats eyes.

So, why do some bikers insist on filtering through the cars during peak periods.. ??

Stop it you feckin retards!!!!

On an open motorway, I'm courteous to bikers and allow them past whenever possible. I console myself that they have to cock about with security devices and leathers at each end of the journey anyway....

But in these roadworks, there's sod all room and if one numpty clips a rear wheel of a bike it'll be lampshades for all concerned.

So if you come off your bike in that contraflow and I get stuck on the M3 all evening, you can bet your ass I'll be out of the car, kicking your broken body when I get to the front of the queue.

have you also noticed people squeezing through at 20 + over the posted 50? not clever with the lanes as thin as they are.. i'm amazed there haven't been any incidents.

Speaking as a biker who joins and leaves this part of the M3 at junction 3, I have to unfortunately agree with you.

On a few occassions over the last few weeks I have seen bikers filtering at these roadworks and it's just not clever.

I freely admit that I filter through slow moving or stopped traffic in normal motorway conditions and it probably pi$$es some motorists off (but that's usually because they are not paying attention), but doing this when the lanes are so narrow is dangerous !

However, I would also like to point out that car drivers still need to use their indicators in these conditions. Just because the lanes are thinner and they have less physical distance to cover to change lanes, does not mean they don't have to indicate !
