Ordered an OEM aerial - LR030590 to go on a defender - it’s got the standard bottom mount but the wire comes out of the aerial above the mount and runs upwards.
I can’t work out how it fits without having a cable flapping about.

The truck has a nasty chrome after market one with bottom exit cable. So want to put the correct one on but
I can’t find any images of one fitted.

The way that's pictured is upside down, surely? The thick black bit contains the extending aerial that comes up from the chromed end.

That would certainly explain a lot!

I thought it was a flexi - rubber aerial.

It's an extender! /Partridge/

I haven't seen a powered aerial since the late 90s. IRRC they are much more effective than bee sting or rear screen aerials though.

Bloody glad it’s not my truck - it’s my boss’s. He gave me a pic and I ordered it for him.

The result - I look like a cock on PH (again).

And now I have to send it back as he wants a rubber one.

so...

lets just forget about my minor cock-up weeping

does anyone have a recommendation for a decent rubber aerial?

It sounds worse than it is.

The one on our Defender is from Halfords.
Make sure that the panel you fit it to is clean so that the antenna earth is good - otherwise poor reception is the result.
