Car Stereo Question

[hands up] a complete numpty on the car stereo front here [/hands up]

I saw a car stereo system on Halfords a few years ago - which had a unit that plugged into your PC and you could download 3000 songs and then plug said unit into the head unit in the car and away you go.

Does anyone know what it was called - or what alternatives are available today? I'd prefer to download the tracks I want, as opposed to a traditional multi-play system.

Nowadays your best bet for ease of use/value/versatility is probably a headunit which will read DVDs loaded with mp3/wma files. This way you can use it like a normal CD player or have 4.7 gb of mp3s. This seems like a neater solution than a hardrive type player (which do exist, the Kenwood Keg I believe is one but I havn't seen it on sale anywhere..). reckons you can get 100hours of music onto one disc, and seems to be priced well.

ive got a blaupunkt woodstock dab 52 in my car, it can play mp3 cds and also has a slot for a multimedia card, so theoretically you could have whatever the biggest size they currently do, think its either 1 or 2gb, there dead small, so would be easy to carry around

you can get the stereo for around £150 now i think
